Objectives

The ultimate objective for this annual discussion is to create and revise an 18-24 month demand forecast for technology workers in the Chicagoland region. This forecast helps achieve the following:
  • local universities and students understand where demand for skills will be in the near future;
  • CIOs and HR leaders understand the magnitude of trends and how their organizational competencies will be affected
Social Value

The proceeds for this event fund the i.c.stars program activities. i.c.stars was founded in 1999 to develop 1,000 community leaders in 10 years.

Through an internship in technology, leadership and business skills we prepare inner city young adults (18 to 27 years old) for high-level careers in information technology. Upon completing the 1000 hour, 4 month internship program, graduates of the program go on to work in IT at Grainger, Allstate, Hewitt, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Illinois, Accenture, Microsoft, Juno Lighting, CNA, PepsiCo, Barton, Inc. and many others.

The content of this annual event helps i.c.stars and Universities in Illinois area stay responsive to evolving corporate IT skill needs.
